Tour Description

Visit Emperor Constantine’s birthplace Nis and one of the nominees for the New World’s Wonders of Nature – Devil’s Town on this magnificent day trip from Belgrade!

Nis is the largest city in Southern Serbia, known as the birthplace of Constantine the Great. After exploring the city and listening to the story about this famous Roman emperor, the tour continues to Skull tower - the tower made of the skulls of Serbian fighters who rose up against Ottomans during the First Serbian Uprising and paid the ultimate price.

The history lesson continues at a concentration camp from World War II. You will hear about the torture that thousands of captured people experienced during the war.

Mediana – archaeological site with remains of a luxurious residence with a highly organized economy. Excavations have revealed a villa with thermae, granary and water tower.

Devil’s Town or Djavolja Varos – the New Seven Wonders of Nature nominee is crown jewel of this excursion.

This natural monument is comprised of two natural and rare in the world phenomena: the soil figures, as specific forms of relief which appear rather attractive, and two springs of extremely acid water with high mineralisation.

This is for sure one of the best guided tours you can attend in Serbia!

The tour was very accomodating to organise a trip for me on short notice. The guide Milan was very knowledgeable and very helpful in making it a memorable experience. All the sites we visited were great, with our last stop the devils town. It was a lovely site. If you want to experience some nature and history of serbia, this is the trip for you!
