Tour Description

True travellers, all their lives, are constantly spurred on by the desire to discover new places and every time take home a variety of images, smells, flavours and sounds that are part of the charm of a city, country or landscape.

This is what happens to those who decide to visit the area where Parmigiano Reggiano, Balsamic Vinegar and Lambrusco wine is produced.

Step back in time to learn how parmigiano-reggiano, known as the ‘king of cheeses,’ is made with this visit to a ‘caseficio,’ or cheese factory.

Watch cheese makers at work as they cook the milk to separate the whey and lift the parmigiano-reggiano, followed by a visit of the aging room (the ‘stagionatura’ in Italian), where you will admire rows and rows of wheels of cheese aging while perfuming the air.

Finish the tour by tasting parmisan cheese along with honey and marmalade.

After the caseificio, we will make our way to Modena, where we will visit the old and traditional food market. Inside the market you will have a Lambrusco wine tasting accompanied by traditional Modena-ham and more.

Lunch in a typical trattoria Modenese, enjoying an authentically cooked Italian meal of three courses with a fantastic Lambrusco wine.

Next, right after the visit of Modena, we will make our way to an Acetaia (Balsamic Vinager Factory) where you will have a private tour of the cellars, receiving a full explanation of the processing phases to make Balsamic Vinegar
