Tour Description

The half-day Athens starts with a visit to the Acropolis hill, where you will see the Parthenon, the temple devoted to Goddess Athena goddess of wisdom.

Propylea; the entrance to the sacred rock, the Temple of Wingless Victory which was devoted to Goddess Athena-Nike.

Erechtheum, the most sacred and mythical of all the temples in Acropolis, the 5000-seat Odeon of Herodes Atticus which was carved into the rock and is still used for music festivals, the 13000-seat theater of Dionysus where the Athenians listened to the immortal works of Sophocles, Aeschylus, Euripides and Aristophanes.

We will continue our tour by visiting the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Panathinaic Stadium (where the Olympic Games were held for the first time in 1896).

At Constitution square we are going to have a stop in front of the Parliament to see the changing of the Guards, and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Then we will drive through University avenue to see the Academy, the University and the National Library.

Time to visit, the oldest part of Athens (the Plaka district) a very vivid neighborhood with cafes, picturesque taverns, and all kind of shops; OR VISIT The new Acropolis Museum.

The duration of the tour is 5 hours. Our knowledgeable driver is going to give you all the essential information and historical facts, BUT he can not accompany you into the archaeological sites / museums.
